Expect no more than you bring!

Is it me or are some of the people on giveittomeraw a little too dogmatic? 8/1/1 people on there seem very extreme. The good thing is that most of what is said isnt really accurate. Ideal diet for humans? what?! yeah go out in nature and try to find 20-30 bananas a day to eat! There is also a certain someone on there who is truly a pest. Sorry just had to let that out lol

I have lived in tropical places and seriously considered cultivating bananas commercially (organic of course). Each bunch of bananas can be eight feet long and several feet wide. I am talking the bananas, not the plant itself. Each plant can fruit from planting in nine months. Each plant can bear more than one bunch at a time. Lots of plants can grow close together. They aren't all that hard to plant, and the rains in tropical places really help. Hummingbirds come and fertilize, at least I think that's what they're doing. Snakes love the plants, as do massive sized spiders as do rats. It is quite feasible to have tons of bananas close by. They are so much better when you get them on location. Even so, I could never eat very many. Guavas yes, passion fruit, acerolas, you name it, but I don't like starch, and even more- the smell yuck. Importing them is stupid. They never ripen properly, and even if they do, they don't have the same effects as when they are where they came from. I guess a gorilla can eat that many, but our intestines are not nearly as long as gorillas' are. Watch out though. Criticize raw food, and a wombat may strike you.

I am not criticizing raw foods at all! I am just sick of others putting people down. I have learned that if one person tells you they have found perfect way of doing something they are flat out lying to you! It may work for them but what gives them the right to claim that it will absolutely work for you. See what Im gettin at here. Thanks for the relpy! Oh and I love wombats! I would accept the strike with open arms :)

Yeah, I like wombats too. I was just kidding. I don't want to start up with those crazy people though. You're welcome.

Thanks for that. It can be a bit overwhelming with the insistence on there for things like that, which might be okay for some people, but my instincts also tell me that it doesn't really make sense either... I don't like to knock someone else's eating habits, it is such a personal thing. If people would just make suggestions rather than dictations it would all be good and well... I'm not a banana lover either, that is my far my least favorite fruit.

This guy just ate a banana:

Maybe they are lizard people.
Maybe it's the only way the can behave, poor things.
Or maybe they've just have a really bad long day, and they'll snap out of it and be human again soon.

Dogmatism sells! Anything with great promises inspires hope, and people will pay any ammount of money for hope. The main thing people hope for is releif from pain, whether it be physical or emotional. I have found there is no step-by-step process that is one size fits all, like the authors of such books imply...like its some answer to every problem. Is raw food important? You bet! Every culture all throughout history has some raw food as an integral portion of their diet. But is raw food everything? Is it THE answer to all problems mankind faces? Probably not I think more important is the emotional and logistical issues most people need to conquer. I am personally plagued by how to get my soil to the place where I can grow a decent ammount of food and how to store it up, and how to aquire what I need to do that and take care of other responsibilities at the same time. We are such a culture of laziness and convenience - i don't even know how to live otherwise. How to fill family obligations and live a life that is in alignment with the planet, you know? Sorry - a bit long winded and disconnected, but it's an issue i've really struggled with lately - the dogmatism in the raw food world really gets to me too!
